D.R.E.A.M.S.
DREAMS is the core of Subnova and its node sites.
DREAMS was written by Deimos "3of9" Fawkes. It has evolved over the course of 3 years from a basic account-based news and forum script set to what you see today.
DREAMS is written in VisualBasic Script as Active Server Pages. The system is heavily dependant on custom server-side components and cannot be easily installed on non-Subnova servers. As result, DREAMS is not available to the public.
The system uses an SQL database to maintain the majority of the content of the sites. It is highly modular and can support node-sites with a fair level of customizability as to appearance.
DREAMS also supports color "themes" for each user. Most of the more interesting features can be accessed in the "Settings" area of Subnova's core site.
DREAMS is constantly being upgraded and enhanced, thus, the version number system is really just a way to gauge when a significant addition has been made to the core files.
DREAMS also introduced "URL Shorthand". URL Shorthand makes typing a custom link wonderfully simple and easy. Combine "http://www.subnova.com" with a "|" and then the title "Subnova's_Website" (note: the _ will turn into a space) and you get Subnova's Website. This formatting works just about anywhere in DREAMS.
As for the name... what does "DREAMS" mean?
