I didn't get a duffel - but the event I attended in Seattle this week had its own schwag bag - and that included at least one of the critical pieces in the duffel - a Halo 3 Xbox 360. (It also had a personalized version of the UNSC sweatshirt Bill Gates was seen wearing at Best Buy on Launch Night, so I got gamertag-customized clothing, too.) Plus, I went to Bungie's launch party and got a really cool messenger bag. :)
I'm not going to become jaded and disinterested because MS Marketing hits up big gaming sites with freebies while ignoring the smaller, focused sites - I don't do this for the schwag. It's nice when it comes along, and I get remembered occasionally - but I do this because I love the fan community, and I love Bungie.
Don't worry too much about me. :)
See, that's what makes you awesome, and what makes you that much more deserving for this kind of thing. It seems to me from what I have read that the 'big gaming sites' get schwag as a bribe to promote the product, and the 'big gaming sites' don't really appreciate what they get.
Where as you on the other hand are devoted to the community and culture that Bungie has given birth to and you would really appreciate what was given out.
Now I have to ask, did they just customize the sweatshirt with your gamer tag, or did they really customize it for you by tie-dying it too? ;-)
