/news/?cat=Subnova... the tough go broke.

Yeah, that about sums it up. Subnova is pretty much out of money.
Over the past 2 years, I have spent an absurd amount of my personal cash on making Subnova a reality. Today, looking at all my bills, I decided that I can't afford to do this anymore.

I'm going to look into some of the new broadband options around here, but for the most part, Subnova's free bandwidth services to the community are gone.

Is this the end of Subnova? No, probably not.

I'll probably be able to keep the website, email and hotline servers up. However, I won't be able to host files for the community. I won't be able to host dedicated gaming servers either. These things will now have to rely on member participation (what a concept!).

I've got some projects going on that will keep Subnova's name in the community in other ways, but for the most part, we're going low-tech/low-cost.

Man, I'm going to miss all that bandwidth just sitting there waiting for me to use it.

You know what's really aggravating? Subnova gets over 1,000 visits per day. If each person clicked one of the sponsor ads each day and/or donated $2 per month... we would be able to afford the T1 and even have some extra cash for real servers.

Oh well.

I'll let you know when the site is going to be down for transition.
